What happens when my data runs out?
Last updated October 14, 2026
Your connection stops — there are no overage charges. If your plan allows top-ups, you can add more data from your account without setting anything up again. If it doesn't, you can buy a new plan.
Data stops
Your data symbol disappears or shows "No Internet." Apps that need data stop loading new content. There are no overage charges: your connection stops rather than running on at extra cost. You still have days left on the clock — only the data is gone.
Your home line still works
Your home SIM is unaffected; calls and texts to your home number keep coming through.
What to do
Top up your plan — if it supports top-ups (your dashboard shows the option), it adds more data and you keep using the same eSIM for the days you have left.
If this plan can't be topped up, buy a fresh plan to keep going.
Find Wi-Fi, or use your home SIM data briefly if you're comfortable with the roaming charges.
Topping up is usually the cleanest option — it restores your travel data without touching your home plan.
